Awa Private Equity Fund

Investing in Sustainable Growth

Introduction

Awa Private Equity Limited Partnership (the Fund), enables investors to contribute to our communities, benefit from the value upside and make a measurable impact. We are focused on the central and lower North Island of New Zealand.

Our founding shareholder David Bennett, Managing Director of Pacific Helmets, recognised that outside the established eco-systems of Auckland and Wellington, small to mid-sized businesses struggle with a range of funding hurdles, from accessing growth capital through to considerations of succession planning. Inspired by his desire to support outstanding regional businesses and conscious of the impact of COVID-19, our commitment to the region has been strengthened.

We are literally and figuratively ‘at home’ in this region, some have lived here for decades, whilst others are returnees with a wealth of international business experience and networks.

Our target companies are small to medium-sized businesses with strong growth prospects. We will be focus on businesses located in the central and lower North Island offering compelling products or services, with a potential to exceed our target IRR.

We are committed to sustainable and responsible investing. Based on Environmental, Social and Governance principles we will apply a quadruple bottom line balancing the cultural, social, environmental, and financial impacts of the investments we make. This underpins our commitment to our investors and the region in which we all live.
